# How to Prepare:

01 - Mix cream cheese with dill, salt, and pepper until smooth. Mash hard-boiled eggs and combine with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chives, salt, and pepper. Blend softened butter with parsley and lemon juice; season with black pepper.
02 - Place all bread slices on a clean surface. Press a large heart-shaped cookie cutter firmly through each slice to create as many heart cutouts as possible.
03 - Spread the cream cheese mixture onto half of the white bread hearts. Layer thin cucumber slices on top and cover with another white bread heart to complete.
04 - Generously spread the egg salad mixture onto half of the whole wheat bread hearts. Top with remaining whole wheat hearts to form sandwiches.
05 - Spread herbed butter onto remaining bread hearts. Layer smoked salmon pieces over the buttered hearts and sandwich with another bread heart.
06 - Place completed sandwiches on a large serving board or platter, alternating the three varieties in an attractive pattern for visual appeal.
07 - Scatter radish slices, microgreens, and edible flowers around the sandwiches. Add lemon wedges as finishing accents. Serve immediately or cover loosely and refrigerate up to 2 hours before serving.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • These little hearts make everyone smile before they even take a bite
  • You can prep everything ahead and assemble in minutes
  • The variety means there's something for every guest
02 -
  • Heart cutters work best on slightly stale bread so shop a day ahead or let slices sit out uncovered for an hour
  • Keep a damp paper towel over your assembled hearts if you're not serving immediately
  • The egg salad sandwiches should be served last since they don't hold as long as the others
03 -
  • Buy an extra loaf of bread so you can practice your cutting technique and still have enough hearts
  • If your cookie cutter sticks, dip it in flour between cuts for clean release every time
