01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Place the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
03 - Place the Brie wheel in the center of the pastry. Spread fruit preserves over the top and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
04 - Fold the pastry up and around the Brie, trimming any excess. Press to seal and flip the wrapped Brie, seam side down, onto the baking sheet.
05 - Beat the egg with water in a small bowl and brush the puff pastry with the egg wash to achieve a golden finish.
06 - Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.
07 - Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm with crackers or sliced baguette.
