01 - Trim tough outer leaves, cut off the top inch, and trim the stem. Halve each artichoke lengthwise and remove the fuzzy choke with a spoon.
02 - Fill a large pot with water, squeeze in lemon halves, and add 1 teaspoon salt. Bring to a boil. Add artichoke halves and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until just tender. Drain thoroughly and pat dry.
03 - Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
04 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss artichoke halves in the mixture to coat well.
05 - Arrange artichoke halves cut side down in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, turning halfway, until edges are golden and crisp.
06 - If using, sprinkle grated Parmesan over artichokes during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
07 - Remove from air fryer, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.
